Web developers are the team of professionals who take care of aspects such as functional, visual, and structural layouts. Web designers often concentrate on making layouts that are user-friendly and visually appealing. The layout is created by using mathematical patterns and algorithms which are then used to achieve the right appearance for the web page. Most web designers often combine technical and emotional design while creating the layout.
Web designers also create the website layout, as well as the graphics that go with it. Many websites are made with a combination of both the technological tools and artistic styles. Many web developers create websites using only Adobe Dreamweaver or HTML, although others may work with only Photoshop, Corel Draw, or InDesign. Emotional design is an aspect of web design that involves using colors and images to persuade the viewer that the website is relevant to him or her and to the topic or theme of the website. Many website layout artists use strong colors and vivid imagery to get the desired effect. Web pages usually contain texts, images, logos, and other visual elements such as buttons, images, interactive elements, and hyperlinks. These visual elements increase the page length and, depending on the web design, can sometimes make the page longer than it needs to be. This is known as 'page length variance', or 'typing variance'. To combat this issue, web designers use various methods, such as optimizing the visual elements, making the most of CSS, and optimizing the page speed. Optimizing the web design involves arranging keywords, phrases, and images in the page properly, so that they can be read easily. Keywords or phrases that are poorly placed could be confusing to the reader, which could result in a loss of sales and revenue. For example, if the layout has too many links or images that are placed too close together, the reader may get lost and click on an alternate link or window, causing the loss of revenue. In order to optimize the layout for optimal reading, many web development companies employ the use of specialized software, such as page speed analyzers and its preprocessors, in order to maximize the readability of the layout. In addition to optimizing the layout, web designers work with content to make the page more interesting and appealing. The content of a web design is not only pictures, text, and other visual elements, but also logos, videos, and sound. This part of the web development process is called graphic design. It can be very challenging, especially for beginners, but some of the best websites known today use this technique to attract users. Content also creates consistency and credibility for the website design. A good website design makes a great first impression, and a bad one can leave a bad impression for the visitor. Content is what keeps visitors interested. Many websites fail simply because the author did not put enough thought into the design. Website content must be relevant and interesting to the audience. If the website is not informative or interesting, the visitor will leave in search of another website. As previously mentioned, graphic design principles form the backbone of most web designers' work. Other design principles incorporate typography, content, images, and videos. All of these elements work together to create a successful website design. These design principles, when combined correctly, provide a user experience that is both unique and engaging.
